Rather than have a Jackass of the week award ala Gruber. I thought I’d instigate the TWUNT award for being a total TWUNT

The inagural award goes to Ashlee Vance writing on The Register. The poor love didn’t get a ticket the WWDC keynote this year. He’s even bought his wife a MacBook Pro so how can Apple not see the value of having him at their developers conference? They let all sorts of ruffians in from less popular sites but for some reason The Register just couldn’t be accommodated. I like how he goes from the Apple PR response of “We appreciate your interest but cannot accommodate your request,” to “We’ve been banned for similar things in the past”.
Now I’m not saying that you haven’t been banned Ashlee but how’s about the possibility that regardless of your purchase of an Apple computer or twelve or saying that Steve Jobs pronounced Jaguar incorrectly that all the seats were gone and Apple simply couldn’t accommodate your request? I was at WWDC last year in the press section and there were just the right amount of seats for bums. Incredibly Apple had a set number of places and they’d filled them.
Using your very popular website to complain about something like this is just unprofessional and nobody out there cares that you couldn’t go to WWDC as there were plenty of reporters that did get to go. They got their news despite your absence.
I’ve also bought a crap load of Apple kit in the last year but I didn’t get an invite for this years event. Must have been something I said. TWUNT.
